Is it necessary to obtain planning permission before having air conditioning installed?No, before air conditioning equipment can be installed, planning permission is not normally required. However, if you do not own the property or premises you wish to install air conditioning in, you may need the landlords consent.

Is air conditioning expensive to run?No, air conditioning is generally very economical. The equipment supplied and installed by our engineers uses the latest inverter technology meaning that they are extremely efficient ensuring that we can provide you with a cost-effective system. Our systems range for A+ to A+++ there is also 0% VAT to pay on domestic installations.

Will you repair any air conditioning system?Yes, we commonly repair air conditioning systems that we have not installed and take over the repair and maintenance of systems. At the first maintenance visit, Soltec will assess your current air conditioning system and will make recommendations should any replacements or repairs be necessary.

Which regions do you cover?Soltec is based in Southend-on-Sea and covers Essex and London. We will extend to areas such as Kent so please do contact us if you live outside the area.

Are the air conditioning units you supply quiet?Yes, all the air conditioning units we supply at Soltec are exceptionally quiet and should not cause any noise disruption whilst functioning, to you or your neighbours.

Can I fit my air conditioning unit myself?Unfortunately, Soltec do not sell fitted air conditioners without installing the unit. We would advise that you get an air conditioning system fitted by a qualified and experienced engineer. We offer the installation of all air conditioning units as standard.

When and why should I service my air conditioning unit?For domestic homeowners we recommend an annual service of your air conditioning unit(s) to ensure optimum running and energy efficiency. For commercial units every 3-6 months.
